What to Do About Sleepiness at Work?
Workers know how sleepy they get, especially after lunch or towards the end of the workday. One of the main reasons for this is, of course, fatigue and our energy levels gradually decreasing towards the end of the day. The reason for sleepiness after lunch is that the body directs blood circulation from the brain to the stomach, and energy is spent digesting food. Therefore, the answer to the question of what to do about sleepiness at work becomes even more important for all employees.
Health Checks

If you are not energetic enough at work, and if you cannot resist sleep despite everything being in order in your daily life, the first thing you should do is to have a general health screening. The reason many people succumb to sleepiness is actually vitamin and mineral deficiencies, illnesses, hormonal imbalances, and sometimes psychological distress. Therefore, you first need to know that you are in ideal health conditions.
Loving Your Job and Workplace

Unfortunately, working in a job we don't like and operating in a field we don't like will cause our motivation for work to disappear. This lack of motivation will, in the long run, manifest as drowsiness, low spirits, and a bad mood. All you have to do is to do a job you love, even if you earn less. Remember that sometimes not everything is about money.
Sleep Schedule

An irregular sleep schedule will unfortunately drain your energy throughout the day. You should go to bed at the same time every day, wake up at the same time, and get enough sleep. Experts recommend disconnecting from technology at least an hour before going to bed to fall asleep at the right times. In fact, if you spend your last hour in a dimly lit room, your body's transition to sleep will be even shorter.
Drinking Water

When our body does not receive enough water, it loses its balance, and this situation returns to us as sleepiness, pain, fatigue, and weakness. To ensure that our body can continue its normal energy production functions, you should not forget to drink eight glasses of water every day. Absolutely do not forget to consume less liquids like tea, coffee, and alcohol.
Exercising

Exercise speeds up blood circulation and revitalizes the body. Although you may feel a little tired in the first few days, if you consistently exercise at least by walking, you will notice that your body becomes more energetic every day. Especially those who work sitting down can experience circulatory problems in the long run and become very energetic. Remember that a sound mind is in a sound body.
Pay Attention to Nutrition

If you don't eat 3 meals a day, exaggerate some meals, and consume very heavy foods, sleepiness is unfortunately normal. Getting the nutrients our body needs at the right times and in the right way will correct our energy levels and body's regulation. You should particularly avoid very heavy and fatty foods during lunch breaks.
