What Should Be Done for Student Motivation?
POSITIVE MOTIVATION
As individuals, we all need motivation in our daily lives. Sometimes we seek this motivation internally, and sometimes externally. If we can achieve this, our lives become much easier. We achieve success in whatever we do, and we take the first step towards becoming successful individuals. So, how should our students, who will become adults, find motivation? How should we motivate them? What should be done for student motivation?
We Must Know Our Children Well
First, as parents, we must know our children well, discover them well. We need to look at which subjects they have attention deficit in. If we find the problem, our job becomes much easier. For example, if the motivation of children is external, as we mentioned earlier, we need to make various arrangements in the home environment as parents. Factors such as heat, light, and sound are primary factors. Even a messy room arrangement at home can be frustrating for a child. Or even small trinkets in the room can immediately affect the lack of motivation. Moreover, colorful pens, toys on the desk, or even a richly patterned tablecloth can be enough to disrupt everything. If the motivation at home is internal, it is achieved not by constantly saying "come on, study," but by giving the right stimuli at the right time. Remember that studying under duress, reading a book under duress brings zero success. So, how can motivation be provided as a student at school? After providing the external environment, we can start with motivating and encouraging words. We can motivate students by comparing them to themselves, not to each other. And most importantly, we can boost motivation not by punishing their failures, but by praising their successes. Remember that even a smile will motivate children at home and students at school.
