What is an Interactive Whiteboard?

Units That Can Be Attached to a Standard Board with Clips

Akıllı yazı tahtaları first emerged as interactive whiteboards and were marketed as such. In English, 'smart' refers to the meaning of 'akıllı tahta' (intelligent board). These systems are used in various and different ways, and there are different types such as interactive boards, electronic boards, and smart writing boards. This technology is described as the transformation of the large whiteboard used in schools into an interactive screen. It is also known as a technology that reads a projection surface reflecting a computer screen onto our board surface, and the readings from this technology are transferred to computers. This technology consists of an electronic infrared or ultrasonic sensor mounted on the whiteboard surface and a pen-like transmitter that sends signals with this system, forming the akıllı tahta system. With the pen acting as a signal transmitter, the sensor devices know the coordinates on the board. Simultaneously, the sensor, connected to the computer via USB or wirelessly, transmits coordinate information to the software on the computer.

Mechanical Passive Boards with Double-Layer Surfaces

The board surfaces are covered with double-layered membranes that are touch-sensitive. This allows devices to be used effectively by touching with any pen or even a finger. Those who will prefer these systems in smart boards should pay particular attention to the durability of the surfaces. While the surfaces were not durable when first introduced, they now have a more robust structure with today's technology.
