Can Research or Internships Be Done in Nursing Homes?
All individuals aged 55 and over who continue their lives at home alone or with their families can become members of the centers and benefit from all necessary services in the most effective way.
Those who are between 55 and 60 years old and wish to benefit from the centers can become members with the proposals of the center manager and the approval of the provincial directorates. Elderly solidarity centers are established to help individuals living alone and wishing to stay in the centers to spend their free time, meet their social, psychological, and health needs by providing guidance and vocational work, and to increase all their social relationships and activities. In our country, there are some elderly solidarity centers in different cities. In these centers, Turkish Folk and Turkish Classical Music choirs, consisting of members, engage in music activities, and social and cultural trips and dining activities can be organized.
Compared to the past, nowadays, to open private nursing homes and elderly care homes, one must apply to the provincial social services directorates of the respective provinces.
Opening Private Nursing Homes and Elderly Care Homes
Provincial social services directorates, in accordance with Law No. 2828 and the regulations for private nursing homes and elderly care homes issued in line with this law, guide prospective founders who wish to open an establishment within the framework of all determined criteria. The research and internship requests of university students at associate, bachelor's, and master's levels, as well as research requests from universities and other public institutions and organizations, must be evaluated by the training center presidencies of their general directorates. There are some required documents for individuals who wish to conduct research. These include: the theoretical and institutional framework of these research, the names, objectives, significance, methodology, hypotheses, assumptions, and limitations of the research. Information must be provided on the survey questions of the research, the nursing home locations, the dates, and the purpose of the research. A petition addressed to the training center presidency of the general directorates of institutions such as universities, higher education institutions, and public institutions, and proof that the applicants are students of the aforementioned institutions must be submitted.
